becca + chris :: romance in the country

if you frequent this blog, then you're quite familiar with a few of my favorite things on a wedding day - of course there are the details and unexpected moments but my favorite of favorites is getting the couple alone and just letting them play. this usually happens right after the ceremony in the transition time to the reception area - they're beyond pumped about finally being husband and wife - and have no qualms about letting that love show.

what's truly amazing is photographing a couple like becca and chris - who lets that love hang out on a sleeve in the most honest and endearing way possible. those traits combined with the natural ease of their interactions and a keen sense of humor makes falling in love with them absolutely undeniable.

i've always been told that you're friends define who you are. i am so very proud to call both these two good friends and couldn't be more honored to have their aspirations and character define who i am. these two are incredibly talented artists who live out what it means to 'dream big and love whole heartedly' - who's grip on reason is only loosened by their heart's desire to serve others and live a life filled with purpose. throughout the years i've been catapulted back to my senses by observations made by becca that simply remind me of what's important in life. that's just what great friends do - not push but remind and encourage you to be all that it is you're destined to be.

when you know someone in and out - their childhood stories, their family history, the trials they faced as a youth, etc. etc. you are able to see more to each situation. the 'why' that pops to mind when someone does something you don't quite get - is better understood and you see the true beauty of their character. it also makes the moments of joyful child's play even better, presenting that love of life that they've always maintained and is now even stronger due to finding their life's partner - and forever playmate.

there are times when you look at your spouse and you absolutely fall for them all over again - and can't help but gush, 'i love you so much.' that uncontrollable laugh that spills out of them while sitting around the campfire telling stories or the way they look then smirk at you after your child does something that is so 'you' or so 'them.' they are the moments that take you from day to day - then year to year, soon you'll be looking back over decades of memories that hold your best times and greatest triumphs. that journey began on this day, with the deepest of commitments to have and hold each other for the rest of your days.

tomorrow we'll arrive at the party and get the grand tour of all the amazing touches that truly made this party! if you're into party planning and fabulous details - you will not want to miss this!
